Black and White in the Bath

As I was slaving away over my latest edits, I overheard quite a bit of ruckus coming from my mom and little one in the bathroom during her bath.

My iPhone pictures just weren't cutting it when I decided I wanted to capture the cuteness.

I'm not the biggest fan of black and white but for these, it just seemed fitting. Her mood is all the color these images needed :)

Weddings are kind of my thing.

I get hired to do a lot of portrait work and I love it! I initially started doing photography because I wanted to photograph births. Long hours, on call, women in agonizing pain... sounds awesome, right?! (For real though, photographing births is pretty sweet)

When I "second shot" for a good friend of mine for the first time, I realized how much fun photographing a wedding could be. Weddings are also once in a lifetime events. Weddings gather family and friends to celebrate love between two people! You see everyone prim and proper and then, usually, you see everyone drunk and dancing! It's pretty much the perfect event to attend over and over if you're a giant social butterfly, and I just so happen to be one.

That being said, it's been somewhat difficult for me to actually book weddings. So, I've found myself being the second shooter for other photographers quite a bit, especially this last year.

Here are some of my favorites from my last few months of shooting. Enjoy!

Intimate Hermann Park Wedding {Dasha and Jack}

When I arrived at the McGovern Centennial Gardens to photograph Dasha and Jack's wedding, Dasha was incredibly flustered. It was balmy (mid day), and the pavilion they had originally wanted to get married underneath was closed for construction. I wasn't worried at all, Jack's demeanor was extremely easy going, Dasha looked absolutely stunning and we were after all in a beautiful place! Besides, love looks good on everyone.

We settled on a place underneath a large tree with lots of shade for their close family and friends. After their brief ceremony, we rolled through family photos and then I walked around with the newlyweds and photographed them basically just hanging out!

These two have inside jokes galore. They suggested poses they absolutely had to have, and I caught lots of hilarious and adorable candids in between.

Oh, and can you believe Dasha's dress was under $100?! It's seriously lovely.

Congratulations Dasha and Jack!
