Ribault Club Wedding | Kara & Billy

I guess it's obvious how busy the end of my 2016 was by the shape of my blog.

Kara & Billy's wedding meant so so much to me.
Firstly, it was my first ever destination wedding! I got to follow these two to Florida for their elegant wedding day.

Secondly, this job becomes a whole new level of cool when you've known your clients for years through other weddings and you FINALLY get to meet the families of both sides. It gives a whole new insight on how perfect they are for each other!

Congratulations again, y'all! I'll always have absolutely wonderful memories of this trip.

Being the "other" photographer

Sometimes, just sometimes, I get the privilege to shoot a client's wedding completely on my own. What an honor, right?! This person entrusts me to capture everything that happens on that once in a lifetime day. Some people don't opt to have a "second shooter" there because of their budget or because they feel it isn't necessary.

And some people do.

In my career, I've second shot a lot. And now that I'm getting to a point where I'm booking more clients on my own, it's particularly awesome being the "other" photographer. It's all the fun and involvement with none of the responsibility. (Okay, not none. But, not as much)

I've had the opportunity to work with some really talented people, to see how they work, follow them around, bug them throughout the day and contribute to their creative process. It doesn't really get a whole lot cooler than that.

Here are some recent favorites while working with Stefano Choi (http://stefanochoi.com) & Theo Civitello (http://www.theo-graphics.com)

Special thanks to both of these guys for inviting me to shoot and learn!

Hotel Icon Bridals | Lori

Lori and I were acquaintances wayyy back. We hardly knew each other all those years ago when we were first introduced and that is such a shame, cause she's literally the coolest.

When we met up at a local coffee shop to discuss her wedding plans, we laughed and gossiped more than we really planned.

When the day of her bridals came, we each grabbed a drink from the Hotel Icon bar and searched the place up and down for fun spots to shoot.

Of course my favorite pictures are all of the images in which Lori's personality really shines through. But also, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT DRESS?!
